Debra Ann Koss, 73, of Arundel, passed away Monday evening, June 24, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.

Debra was born May 2, 1951, in Biddeford, to the loving Seeley family. She was the daughter of Frederick and Roberta Seeley, and graduated from Kennebunk High School, class of 1969.

With a spirit of adventure, Debra explored the world beyond Maine, spending over 18 years working in Florida and the islands before the call of home brought her back to Maine. Upon her return, she became a beloved fixture at Garden Street Market in Kennebunk, later retiring from Hannaford after 25 years as a shift leader. Debra’s friendly demeanor and genuine interest in others made her a favorite among coworkers and customers alike, always ready with a smile and a kind word.

At her core, Debra was the heart of her family. Her nurturing spirit and unconditional love created a haven of warmth and support for her loved ones. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel cherished and cared for, ensuring that both their physical and emotional needs were met with unwavering devotion.

Debra’s sunny disposition extended to her love for animals. She delighted in horses and eagerly anticipated watching the pomp and circumstance of the Kentucky Derby. Though she playfully denied being a “dog person,” her gentle scratches behind furry ears and sneaky treats told a different story, revealing her soft spot for four-legged friends.

Her kindness and friendly nature will be deeply missed by her community in Kennebunk, where her warm smile and readiness for a friendly chat brightened countless days. Debra leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
