Sharon “Kathy” Harkins, 76, of Old Orchard Beach, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Kathy was born in Biddeford on September 26, 1947, the daughter of Robert and Lorraine (Burke) Bellevue. She graduated from Old Orchard Beach, High School, Class of 1966.

Kathy worked in the restaurant business as a waitress for most of her life. Her longest position was held at Michele’s Garden Café where she made many lasting friendships with both coworkers and customers.

Kathy met the love of her life, Joseph Harkins, in the 1993, and they were married the very next year.

There were many things that Kathy enjoyed doing in as a pastime, but at the top of her list was following the Boston sports teams, especially the Boston Bruins. She rarely missed a televised game, and if she was in the middle of watching one she couldn’t be disturbed. Kathy and Joe were New England Patriot season ticket holders for 10 years, and they often enjoyed train rides to Boston to watch a game, or just to enjoy the city. Kathy was also an avid reader of mystery novels. Most of all, she loved her family and the time she spent with her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by many.

Kathy was predeceased by: her brother, Scott Bellevue; and by her sister, Lisa Bellevue.

She is survived by: her husband, Joseph Harkins; by her daughter, Viva Rain Bellevue; by her stepdaughter, Kathryn Brunelle and husband Paul; by her two grandchildren, Allanah Sheehan and Joseph Brunelle; by one great-grandchild, Reid Sheehan; by her brother, Brian Bellevue; as well as by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are private.
