Overhead Door defeated Portland Boxing Club, 5-0, in the Portland Little League Majors championship game Friday night at Loring Memorial Field to repeat as city champions.

Louis Bechard was the winning pitcher, throwing a complete game, two-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts, while going 2-for-3 at the plate, Catcher James Minervino had three hits with three runs scored and two RBI and Rylan Phillips had two hits and two RBI. Overhead Door did not commit an error.

The evening included a pregame ceremony honoring legendary Portland Little League coach Ron Farr in front of a sizable crowd, despite soggy conditions. Overhead Door finished with a record of 12-3-1 on the season while Portland Boxing Club ended its season with a 9-6-1 mark.
