Christina “Tina” Frances Paul

OLD ORCHARD BEACH – Christina “Tina” Frances Paul, 72, lived her years with spirit and grace before dying of a brain tumor on May 21, 2024, at her home in Old Orchard Beach; a town she loved since childhood. Tina was a rarity in this world. Many people have regrets or wish they did more, but she had none.

Tina was the youngest of five children, born on Sept. 17, 1951, in Worcester, Massachusetts, to Margaret (Connelly) Paul and Alexander Paul. She is survived by her siblings, Maureen, John, David, and Robert; her son, Gabriel; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Each would tell you she was the core of love in the family.

Of her many adventures, she was a Broadway dancer and choreographer, a published author, a dog trainer, a cookie store owner, an artist, a teacher, and a mother, the last of which was her greatest role.

In between, she traveled the world and conquered it all. Hers was a spirit of joy and cutting wisdom. She saw hard truths and hardships, and was consistently ready to help, be that through loving kindness or brutal honesty. Tina was charitable to the end, volunteering at the Saco food pantry up until her diagnosis. Every time she brought her (best in the world) fresh-baked cookies to local firefighters and police, she cried. The neighborhood cats, squirrels, and birds will miss her like the rest of us, as she fed and watched over them every day. Tina has been described as an angel by the lucky few who glimpsed her wings.

The family is holding a celebration of Tina’s life at her home at 95 Atlantic Avenue, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064, on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 2-6 p.m. All those that knew and loved her are welcome to attend, and she wouldn’t want us to be too sad.
