Central Maine Power must honor all signed solar interconnection agreements, without delay or attempted excuse.
The cost of any system upgrades beyond what the solar developers had agreed to fund results from CMP’s incompetence and should not be borne by CMP’s ratepayers or by the developers. Instead, it should be funded by CMP’s shareholder, Avangrid, through a reduction in its earnings from CMP.
Going forward the Public Utilities Commission must ensure that CMP is held to best practices that will enable our rapid transition to clean energy, and hold CMP accountable; and if CMP continues to stumble, make Avangrid pay the price.
