The National Weather Service issued its first frost advisory of the season for late Saturday and early Sunday in Portland and other coastal areas.

It also issued a freeze warning for inland areas including Lewiston, Naples and Sanford.

Meteorologist Margaret Curtis said Portland was expected to reach a low of about 35 degrees overnight. Temperatures were expected to dip as low as 34 degrees in Augusta, 35 degrees in Bangor and 33 degrees in Lewiston and Sanford, Curtis said.

Areas farther west including Rangeley, Rumford and Farmington, were expected to experience temperatures in the high 20s to low 30s, she said.
