BRUNSWICK — Senior designated hitter Corey Henderson collected two hits including a two-run double in the sixth to lead Edward Little to a 5-1 victory over Brunswick in KVAC baseball action Friday.

The Red Eddies (6-3) drew first blood in the fourth with a single tally. Nate Pushard was outstanding on the mound, striking out five and walking no one.

Lew Jensen made a couple of diving plays in the field to nail down the victory in the seventh inning for Edward Little.

Nick Thibeault scored the lone Dragon (5-4, scheduled to visit Cony today) run to help his own pitching cause.

In Mountain Valley Confernce play on Friday, the visiting Greyhounds improved to 8-2 and host Hall-Dale today.

Tyler Halls (three innings, five strikeouts, seven walks) and Noah Francis (five strikeouts, three walks) did the pitching for Lisbon, which broke the game open with four runs in the fourth and three in the fifth.

In the 18-hit Lisbon effort, Ryler Austin had three hits, three runs and an RBI, RJ Sargent three hits and a run, Kyle Bourget a single, two doubles, three runs and three RBIs, Tucker Brannon two hits and two RBIs, Darren Ward two hits and two runs and Halls a single, double, triple, two runs and three RBIs.

For 4-5 Carrabec, Will Crawford had a double and run and Dustin Crawford a single and RBI.

Dustin Crawford, Hunter Fernald and Will Crawford took turns on the mound for the hosts and combined on three strikeouts and six walks.

DIRIGO 11

Kaine Hutchins went the distance and collected three hits and Adam Volkernick had four RBIs as Dirigo defeated Wiscasset 11-1 victory in a six-inning Mercy Rule baseball game Friday.

After three innings, the Cougars (8-1) held a 5-0 lead and exploded with five more runs in the sixth using a 12- hit attack.

Gavin Arsenault tripled twice and Tyler Frost had two hits and three RBIs.

Wiscasset fell to 4-6 and hosts Monmouth today.

FREEPORT 4

Will Bryant set a school record with 20 strikeouts and Greely went on to post a Western Maine Conference win over Freeport on Friday.

The Rams improved to 8-1, while the host Falcons dipped to 3-6 and are scheduled to host Kennebunk today.

Bryant tossed a four-hitter with three walks, while Pat O’Shea and Bailey Train eached homered in the win.

Caleb Rice and Burke took turns on the mound in the loss.

MORSE 8

On Friday, host Morse improved to 7-3 and is scheduled to host Maranacook today.

Morse jumped out to an early lead scoring three runs in the first inning on an RBI single from Zach Holbrook and RBI triple from Chris Paulus. Morse added a fourth run in the bottom of the second to take a four-run lead on a sacrifice fly by Holbrook.

Nokomis answered back in the top of the third with three runs on five straight hits. Morse held a 4-3 lead until the sixth inning when Conner Allen took a Holbrook pitch deep to tie the game 4-4.

Morse had the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth, but had the go-ahead run thrown out at the plate.

Nokomis added three runs in the top of the seventh on only one hit. Morse rallied with one out in the seventh.

Trenton Moore walked, followed by Paulus reaching on an error. Andrew LaCavera singled in Moore and advanced to second on the throw to the plate. Dakota Jacobs singled to center, driving in two runs to tie the game.

Jacobs also advanced to second on the throw to the plate. Keegan McDonough singled to short left, but not deep enough to score Jacobs. Morse had runners on first and third with one out when Josh McDougal hit a deep fly ball to center, which scored Jacobs from third to win the game.

Holbrook went the distance with three strikeouts and a walk and helped his own cause with two hits and two RBIs. McDonough had two hits.

Noah Kershner went 3-for- 4 with a RBI in the loss and Andrew Dyer pitched.
