BRUNSWICK — The Maine Department of Transportation is planning on replacing the bridge that carries Old Bath Road/Old Brunswick Road traffic over the New Meadows River between Bath and Brunswick.

Maine DOT will hold an informational public meeting June 12 at 6 p.m. at Bath City Hall.

Brunswick Interim Town Manager John Eldridge announced the meeting to the town council on Monday.

Project manager Joel Kittredge and other DOT representatives will explain the project’s details, listen to concerns, receive comments and answer questions.

According to the meeting’s notice, the department wants to hear opinions on how the project is consistent with the towns’ comprehensive plans, the impact on local resources, and other concerns.

DOT also is seeking any information on historic properties adjacent to the planned project, in accordance with the National Historic Preservation Act.
