BIDDEFORD — Claire L. L’Heureux, 67, of Biddeford, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough, after a long battle with cancer.

She was born in Biddeford on Oct. 6, 1946, the daughter of Armand and Leda Chenard Binette.

She was educated in Biddeford schools and graduated from the former St. Joseph High School with the Class of 1964.

On Aug. 29, 1964, she married Leo R. L’Heureux in St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford.

Mrs. L’Heureux worked at the former Webber Hospital and the Notre Dame Unit in Biddeford for 10 years. She worked 26 years with Bicknell, more recently Konica Photo Processing in Scarborough and last worked two years with the Biddeford Headstart Program until her retirement in 2011.

She enjoyed being outdoors, camping, feeding birds and watching wildlife. She loved caring for her grandchildren.

Surviving are: her husband of 49 years of Biddeford; two daughters, Denise Hutchinson and her husband Jamie of Old Orchard Beach and Brenda L’Heureux of Sun City, Calif.; two sons, Raymond A. L’Heureux and his wife Anne of Biddeford and John R. L’Heureux and his wife Jessica of Rio Rancho, N.M.; three brothers, Frank Binette, Roger Binette and his wife Carol and Gerard Binette and his wife Sharon, all of Biddeford; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Ethan and Emma; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 23, 2014 at Most Holy Trinity Church of the Good Shepherd Parish in Saco.
