York County Sheriff’s Office and the County Patrol Association are working together tonight to make sure children have a safe and happy Halloween.

Sheriff Maurice Ouellette and his deputies will be positioned throughout the county, distributing candy donated by the County Patrol Association, which is the union that represents deputies, said Chief Deputy Bill King.

Kids trick-or-treating should keep an eye out for the “blue light,” where they may find Sheriff Ouellette in Cornish, Maj. Tom Baran in Arundel, Capt. Daniel Bean in Newfield, Deputy Shawn Sanborn in Waterboro, Deputy Troy Chenard and his family, also in Waterboro, Deputy Dan Shaw in Acton and Shapleigh, and Deputy Darren Cyr in Parsonsfield.
