Sarah Talon scored 19 points, and Maine held Rhode Island to seven points in the fourth quarter as the Black Bears rallied for a 57-53 win in a women’s basketball game Wednesday night in Kingston, Rhode Island.
Talon, a junior guard from Windham, made 8 of 9 shots from the field and 3 of 4 from the free-throw line, including a free throw with 15 seconds left that gave Maine (2-1) a four-point lead.
Paula Gallego added 14 points. Talon and Gallego combined for all 14 Maine points in the fourth quarter.
Harsimran Kaur led Rhode Island (2-2) with 11 points.
