Children’s Book Box installed

On Sept. 14 the Molly Ockett Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the town of Bridgton held a ribbon cutting ceremony for a Children’s Book Box in the Bridgton Town Common playground next to the police department and municipal complex. The box is part of a project to provide books, promote literacy among children and foster an environment of reading in the community. The Molly Ockett DAR conceived of the project, Casco Wholesale Bait built the box, the town of Bridgton helped place the box and the Friends of the Bridgton Library donated the books. Museum season ending soon

Poor Rufus Porter murals. The CPWP members lauded the presentation of the murals.

The museum is open Wednesdays to Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will open next June, but may be visited by appointment over the winter. To ask about an off-season appointment, email staff@rufusportermuseum.org.
