“Big Brother”
overreaches
This is in response to the “Surgeon General encouraging social connections” article in last week’s Courier.
Holy cow, that was rich. Imagine our own government bureaucrats telling us how important social connections are after they locked us down for what was supposed to be two weeks and closed businesses, churches, schools, counseling, therapy and drug counseling services, etc., etc.
I have seen enough and can’t hold back any longer about the overreach and “Big Brother”-style government telling us ordinary, average people how to live our lives and what matters in life after they break our legs, hand us a crutch and say “you’re all good now”.
The article seems to be an obvious, common sense slap in the face, after what they did to us during COVID. Maybe they should apologize to us first, before they give us any more instructions.

Vote Bailey
for State Senate
I am writing in support of returning Donna Bailey to the State Senate. As former chair of the York County Commissioners, I saw firsthand her ability to advance legislation that made a difference to the people here in Saco and Old Orchard Beach.
She consistently works behinds the scenes and doesn’t care if credit is taken by other publicity seeking politicians in Augusta. We need those type of public servants now more than ever. Please join me in supporting Donna Bailey in her re-election bid.

Re-elect Donna Bailey,
Lori Gramlich
We have some very important choices to make in November and while many are focused on the national election, we’d like to pause for a moment to highlight the importance of our state house races. On Nov. 5, we in Old Orchard Beach have the opportunity to re-elect two outstanding candidates.
Sen. Donna Bailey and Rep. Lori Gramlich have done an excellent job representing us in Augusta. Not only are they a great team working well together on our behalf, but they also have each sponsored significant legislation that impacts our community. From ensuring seniors can age in place, to fighting to protect our coastline, to providing tax relief for older Mainers to addressing the teacher retirement disparities, Sen. Bailey and Rep. Gramlich have been there for us. Let’s be there for them on Nov. 5. Please join us in voting for Senator Donna Bailey and Representative Lori Gramlich.

Re-elect some on
OOB Town Council
I live in a development where, for over three years, we were given false promises and misinformation by the developer. We, as a community, brought our frustration and sense of no one cares to the Town Council. Surprised by what we were telling them, Councilor Blow said he would look into it and get some answers. Councilor Blow took the bull by the horns, worked extremely hard, turned over every stone, stopped the nonsense the developer was dishing out, and got results. He is a man of integrity, loves this town, and puts his heart and soul into making it a place we can all be proud to live in. I would also recommend voting for Councilors Michael Tousignant and Shawn O’Neill

Ingwersen works
for Maine people
I have known Henry Ingwersen for almost 40 years – as a teacher for my children; as a role model for parenting; as a good friend; and for the last several years as treasurer for his political campaigns. He has a proven track record that he is an effective representative in his first term in the state senate, supporting our district and working across party lines.
Henry is once again running for senator in District 32 because he sees more work to be done to improve education for the students in Maine and support for our teachers, having been one himself. He sees more to be done for small businesses in Maine, as he and his wife are running one — they are beekeepers on their family farm in Arundel. He wants to protect our environment, so that his 10 grandchildren will a healthy world to live in.
So, don’t forget to vote in this year’s election, by absentee ballot before, or in person, on Tuesday, Nov. 5. I hope that you will vote to have Henry once again represent District 32 in the Maine Senate.
