Lily Schoonover has been hired by Allen Wealth Management as a financial service coordinator. Schoonover has a bachelor’s degree in architecture and urban planning from Bryn Mawr College.
PROMOTIONS
Acadia Benefits has promoted Kim Mancini to the position of large group benefit analyst. Mancini joined the company last year as an office manager. She is in the process of earning a graduate degree in project management from the Roux Institute at Northeastern University.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Melissa Smith, president and CEO of Wex, was recognized as one of five New Englanders of the Year by the New England Council, a regional business association. Smith joined the financial technology company in 1997 and became CEO in 2014. She more than tripled Wex’s revenue, to $2.55 billion in 2023, and expanded the company’s services from providing fleet cards to also administering employee benefits and processing business payments.
GENERAL
Portland Ovations has appointed two people to its board of directors: Lynn Teo and Mary Wellehan. Teo is an acupuncturist, somatic educator and meditation teacher who trained as an actor at York University in Toronto. Wellehan is an artist and middle school art teacher with a degree in theater from College of the Holy Cross.
The Maine Technology User Group has appointed Fred Brittan, Heidi Orlando, Bill Paradis and Julie Spugnardi to its board of directors. Brittan is vice president of information at Knowledge Services and was Maine’s Chief Information Officer from 2019–2023. Orlando is the director of consulting at MaineTech Consulting. Paradis is an outside sales account executive at Connectivity Point Design & Installation. Spugnardi is a co-owner of Boostrap Marketing.
