“Check your spine at the door” should have been the sign outside the Capitol Hill Club meeting where Donald Trump met GOP members of Congress on June 13.

It is sad to see that Republicans have lost both their memories and their integrity. They are fine with kissing up to a failed businessman, failed president and convicted felon, someone who wants to take the country backwards and only wants to be president to protect himself from prosecution for traitorous acts and take revenge on those who oppose him. Does that sound like democracy?

The corrupt businessman who declared, “I alone can fix it!” left the country with a deficit of almost $8 trillion. He took classified documents and hid them at his public club. We don’t even know what else he may have done with them. He tried to send fake electors to declare he won states that he lost. He sent an angry mob to attack that very same Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021 because he couldn’t handle losing the election. Those people who once said he was responsible for that attack are now crawling back to him because they have no integrity, only a desire for power.

Many states do not allow convicted felons to vote, yet Republicans want one to run the country and are ready to follow him.
