Maine, our nation, and our world face complex and urgent challenges. We need leaders who spend less time talking about what they are going to do and more time actually doing it — and that’s why I’m supporting Angus King this year.

We face an unprecedented affordable housing challenge. A recent estimate predicts Maine needs over 84,000 new homes by 2030 to meet the needs of our neighbors and to accommodate our future workforce. Sen. King is a champion for affordable housing, whether through low-income tax credits, pushing 3-D printing technology, or working to revitalize historic buildings into new homes.

We also need strong Maine voices to confront the threat of climate change. Sen. King supported the most historic environmental legislation in a generation, is a leader in permitting reform to get clean energy projects moving, and is outspoken about the need to protect our planet for generations to come.

I’m supporting Sen. King this year because of what he’s helped to accomplish through his pragmatic, personal approach to policy. The infrastructure bill, the CHIPS act to reduce our reliance on Chinese technology and create American jobs, and the Safer Communities Act to promote gun safety.

I believe Sen. King can accomplish more for our state, because of his track record of hard work and his commitment to delivering results for hard-working Mainers and their families.
