A woman fell from the Marginal Way in Ogunquit on Friday evening and was being treated at the hospital.

The Ogunquit Fire Department responded to the incident around 6:15 p.m., Capt. Scott Bourque said. Crews found the woman on the rocks about 20 feet down from the seaside trail and transported her to the hospital.

Bourque said she suffered “unknown injuries,” and he did not know her condition. He said he could not disclose whether she was conscious at the time of the rescue, and did not say whether she was alone or with anyone at the time she fell.

“I don’t know what caused her to fall,” he said.

The paved cliff walk is 1.25 miles long. One end starts near Sparhawk Oceanfront Resort on Shore Road, and the other is at Perkins Cove.
