Renee Marie Slowik, resident of West Kennebunk, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the age of 89 years.

Renee was born in Nice, France, on Dec. 12, 1934, the daughter of Pierre and Suzanne (Lombardo) Luiggi. After completing her secondary education in France, she met her future husband, Robert Slowik, at the height of the Korean War, and the two soon married. Following Robert’s discharge from military service, the couple moved to West Kennebunk, Robert’s hometown.

Renee worked as a manager at Kessler’s Restaurant in Kennebunk, as well as a caregiver/housekeeper for the Chappell Family for many years. She spent her entire life taking care of family, friends, children and dogs.

She was a devoted member of the West Kennebunk United Methodist Church. She loved to spend time at Sebago Lake, but most of all, loved the time she spent with her friends and family.

Renee is predeceased by her husband, Robert Slowik; her brother, Pierro Luiggi; her sisters, Lillian Luiggi and Francine Russell and Raymonde Marriot.

She is survived by her son, Dale Slowik and his wife, Barbara, of Kennebunk; her son, Glen Slowik and his wife, Sandra, of Standish; her sister, Marie Antoinette Luiggi of France; her grandson, Anthony Slowik of Winterport; and her grandson, Jason Slowik of Kennebunk.

A private graveside service for Renee will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in West Kennebunk.
