Peter Leonard Rist, 71, of Kennebunk, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, June 8, 2024, at the New England Rehab Center in Portland. He was born on March 12, 1953 in Holden, Massachusetts, to Francis and Eileen (King) Rist.
Pete graduated from St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, class of 1971. He attended St. Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Pete was a “Jack Of All Trades” throughout his working career. He most recently owned and operated Kennebunk Property Services, Inc., a landscape and property maintenance business which he, with the help of his son, established almost 20 years ago.
Pete will be remembered as an admirable man with great integrity, honesty and compassion for all he met. He will be sorely missed by many in the Kennebunk area and way beyond. He loved the outdoors and sports of all kinds.
Pete is survived by: his beloved wife of 30 years, Harriet of Kennebunk; daughter, Blaine and her husband John of West Boylston, Massachusetts; son, Jared and his wife Lesley of Arundel; daughter, Ashley and her husband Ryan of Kennebunk; grandchildren whom he adored, Parker, Riley, Gaige, Tanner, Avery, Charlie and Lucas; brothers, Vaughn and his wife Barbara of Wilbraham, Massachusetts, Tom and his partner Dee of Wells, David and his wife Debbie of South Hadley, Massachusetts, and Stephen and his wife Susan of Shrewsbury; and his beloved doggie, Sophie Ann.
Visitation will take place from 10-11 a.m. followed by a celebration of his life at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Bibber Memorial Chapel in Kennebunk.
