Kennebunk High School

Keara Battagliese of Kennebunkport is the daughter of Heather and Neil Battagliese. She was a member of the National Honor Society and recipient of the Smith College Book Award. She was a 4-year varsity lacrosse player, earning an SMAA All-Conference award. Keara is excited for her future at Skidmore College where she is also playing lacrosse. She earned the Porter/Wachenheim scholarship for her scientific research and plans to major in environmental science and minor in either biology or business.

Oliver Boxall of Kennebunkport, son of Melissa and Simon Boxall, plans to attend Dartmouth College in the fall. He plans to study Economics. He is a member of the school newspaper, the Environmental Action Team, and a participant in Model United Nations and Youth in Government. He played varsity soccer and tennis, and was a member of the ski team. He received the Rensselaer Book Award, and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Quinn Downing from Kennebunk is the son of Amanda and Sam Downing. He is the President of the Drama Club and the International Thespian Society, Vice President of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, Webmaster for NHS, and a staff writer for The Herd. He has earned a varsity letter in Theatre Arts. Outside of school he is a summer camp counselor at Kennebunkport Parks and Rec. He will be attending Dickinson College in the fall and will study history and education.

Turner Fadiman of Kennebunk is the son of Jennifer and Matthew Fadiman. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Rotary Interact VP, and a Lead in MaineHealth’s Inside Medicine program. Turner is an AP Scholar, received the RIT Science & Math Award, has earned the KHS STEM Certificate with Distinction, and was selected as an MSGC 2023 Merits Intern. A four-sport varsity athlete, he has also been named to the SMAA All-Academic Team. Turner will major in Biomedical Engineering on a pre-med track at Duke University.

Ava Hackley of Kennebunk is the daughter of Amanda and James Hackley. Ava was a member of the National Honor Society and the International Thespian Society. She earned a varsity letter in Theater Arts and has over 180 recorded points in the International Thespian Society, making her a top scholar. During her time at Kennebunk High School, she was an avid part of every theatrical production and the department as a whole as a varsity actor and board member of the drama club. She will be attending the University of New Hampshire this fall to pursue her interests in Wildlife Ecology.

Isaac Kahn of Kennebunk is the son of Emily and Benjamin Kahn. He is a Presidential Scholar, a National Merit Finalist, and a member of the National Honor Society. Isaac was the Debate Team Captain and Co-Captain of the Ultimate Frisbee Team. Additionally, Isaac was a member of the Tri-M Honor Society and an AP Scholar with Distinction. Isaac also interned at the USM Engineering Department. He will attend Cornell University to study Engineering.

Cassie Midgley of Kennebunkport is the daughter of Sonia and Ben Midgley. Cassie is a member of the National Honor Society and International Thespian Society, where she has over 180 points. During her time in high school, she was a varsity track athlete, earned a varsity letter in Theatre Arts, and a member of the drama club. She will be attending Hofstra University this fall to study Film Production and explore her other interests, such as theater, business management, and community outreach.

Mara Muse of Kennebunkport is the daughter of Mindy and Christopher Muse. Mara will be attending Bowdoin College in the Fall where she will pursue a degree in Environmental Studies and play for the Women’s Lacrosse Team. While at KHS, Mara was Co-President of the National Honor Society and the Environmental Action team. She played Varsity Lacrosse as an All-Conference player and a senior captain and was on the Varsity Cross Country Team (SMAA All-Academic Team). Mara was a recipient of the Cross Country Passion Award and Lacrosse Most Improved Player Award her sophomore year. In addition to athletics, Mara was a full IB Diploma student. She received the Bowdoin College Book Award and the Maine Spanish Seal of Biliteracy.

Mckenna Patterson of Kennebunk is the daughter of Vicki Spear and David Patterson. At Kennebunk High School, she was a member of the National Art Honor Society, the International Thespian Society, and the Drama club. Outside the classroom, she volunteers at the Animal Welfare Society to engage in her community and in her future passions. After high school, she will be attending the University of New England studying Animal Behavior.

Anelise Peterson of Kennebunk is the daughter of Megan and Joseph Peterson. She is class valedictorian and a member of the National Honor/Art Honor Society. During high school, she was involved in the Environmental Action Team (co-president), Swim Team, and Cross Country. Anelise also received the Dartmouth Book Award, Spanish Seal of Biliteracy, and multiple Scholastic Art Awards. She will be attending a four-year college and plans to major in environmentalism and studio arts.

Hannah Roche of Kennebunkport is the daughter of Matthew and Kelly Roche. Hannah was a member of NHS, as well as the recipient of the Springfield College Book Award and the SMAA All Academic Award. She was Varsity Volleyball Captain, and a member of the school newspaper, Executive Council, Mock Trial Team, Civil Rights, and Feminist Club. She will attend Dickinson College in the fall where she will double major in Psychology and Educational Studies.

Nathaniel Scardino of Kennebunk is the son of Kyle Scardino and Andrea Scardino. He is a member of the National Honor Society and was rewarded with the Rochester Institute of Technology Business Leadership Award. During his time at Kennebunk High School he played varsity soccer and received his black belt in Kung Fu. Additionally he volunteered with children teaching martial arts, recording over 500 hours of community service and will be attending Colby College.

Carter Sweeney, son of Justin and Katie Sweeney, has been fortunate to experience a wealth of opportunities during his time in Kennebunk schools. Engaging in activities such as the Math Team and both local and national Lego Robotics competitions, he’s embraced diverse challenges. Alongside these accomplishments, he’s been honored to receive the Yale Book Award and membership in the National Honor Society. His commitment to community service is evident through over 600 hours of volunteering throughout high school. Beyond his academics and volunteering, he enjoys various outdoor activities, particularly rock climbing. Carter looks forward to continuing his educational journey in computer engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute post-graduation.

Hannah Viden is the daughter of Eric Viden. She was a member of the National Honor Society and received the Williams College Book Award. She was also the salutatorian of her class. Hannah was a member of the Environmental Action Team and Women in Science and Engineering Club. She also competed on the cross-country and track teams. Hannah will be attending Harvard University where she plans to major in a life-science-related field.

Isabella White of Kennebunk is the daughter of William A. White Jr. and Heather White. During her time at Kennebunk High School she was president of Art Club and NAHS. She also contributed her time to Theater as an actor and tech member in her later high school years. Isabella also was an avid volunteer for the arts, as a teacher’s assistant and for her overall community. Isabella will be attending the University of Massachusetts – Amherst this fall to study economics which will then lead to a future Law School down the road.

Trevor Williams, son of Eric and Sharon Williams of Arundel, is a member of the National Honor Society and a recipient of the Harvard Book Award and the Spencer A. Trask Science Award. Trevor has competed on varsity cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track and field teams receiving coach’s awards. He was a member of the math team and executive council. Trevor will be attending Cornell University in the fall for Chemical Engineering.
