When will members of Congress grow up and remember who they work for? They waste time arguing about a dress code, vendettas against members of the other party and other issues that can wait. They cannot do their jobs, sit down together or even discuss funding the government in a rational, intelligent manner in due time.
When talking about the possible shutdown recently, Speaker Kevin McCarthy said: “The game is not over.” It is time he and others in Washington realize they work for the American people and are not there to play games. All of them now play “Party Over the People,” and it has to stop.
I find it interesting, and sickening, that if there had been a shutdown, senators, members of the House and their staff would still get paid. They should be the first to lose pay and benefits in a shutdown. Maybe then they would stop playing games with the lives of the American people.
