SPRINGFIELD – Richard D. Lamb, 85, of Springvale, passed away on August 13, 2022, at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading, Mass. surrounded by his family. He was born on Feb. 19, 1937, to Joseph and Alice Lamb. He passed away due to complications from surgery.

He grew up in Quincy, Mass., attended Archbishop Williams High School, Saint Anselm College, received a Master of Education from Boston State College, and an MBA from Suffolk University.

Richard and Anne lived in Springvale since 1970. Richard was a college professor and owned his own accounting practice. He was active in the community in Rotary, Notre Dame Church, the YMCA and sat on numerous non-profit boards, in addition he was a member of the Maine Milk Commission.

During retirement he and Anne enjoyed traveling to many locations, volunteering in local community events and spending time with their children and numerous grandchildren. In addition, he enjoyed a strong martini and a good laugh.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Anne (O’Connell) Lamb; daughter Anne (Lamb) Blythe her husband

Todd Blythe and their children Ian, Rob and John; son Richard Lamb, Jr. “R.J.”, his wife Nichole and their

children Connor, Lindsay and Sean; and, son John Lamb, his wife Allison and their children, Shannon, Jacob and Jack. In addition, he leaves behind many nieces and nephews who brought him much joy. He was predeceased by his parents; and brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Carole Lamb.
