In 1958 she gave birth to her only son, Daniel L. Dacar. Soon after, the two moved back to Maine. Nancy took a job at New England Telephone Co., “Ma Bell,” in the accounting department where she worked for almost 30 years retiring in 1988.

She enjoyed antiquing, photography, gardening, yard sales, sewing, jigsaw puzzles, scrabble, knitting and crocheting and also country music. She was an avid 10-pin bowler for many years. She knitted hundreds of pairs of mittens for school children and many afghans for the Togus Veterans Hospital in Augusta. Nancy also knitted many sweaters and sewed clothing for family members.
