The University of Maine announced additions to new head football coach Jordan Stevens’ staff Monday afternoon.
Trey Hall (football sports performance coach), Patrick Kugler (offensive line) and Bryan Anthony Murray (defensive line) join new defensive coordinator Mathieu Araujo, who was hired Jan. 7.
The coaching hires come as the Black Bears prepare for Wednesday’s national signing day. Maine signed just one recruit, wide receiver Rohan Jones of Montreal, on the first day of the early signing period in December.
Like Araujo, Hall worked with Stevens at Yale last season as the team’s assistant strength and conditioning coach. Kugler comes to Maine after one season as a graduate assistant coach at Auburn last season and a season as a graduate assistant at San Diego State in 2020. Murray spent the last three season as defensive line coach at Slippery Rock University.
Offensive coordinator Andrew Dresner, who served as interim head coach when Nick Charlton left to become offensive coordinator at Connecticut, will remain on staff in his current job.
A former Black Bears captain, Stevens was hired as head coach Dec. 7. Stevens had been an assistant coach at Yale since 2015, most recently as the assistant head coach and co-defensive coordinator.
