A 79-year-old woman from Lyman who suffers from dementia and was the subject of a search Thursday has been found safe.
The Maine Warden Service said Gail Wicklund of 8 Desert Brook Road was last seen when she left her house for a walk about 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
Mark Latti, spokesman for the Maine Warden Service, said Wicklund was found around 7:15 p.m. in a neighbor’s backyard, about a quarter-mile from her home.
Latti said game wardens, state police and others were searching for her Thursday evening when she walked out of the woods and into the backyard of a home. The man who lives in the house called 911 and Wicklund was reunited with her family.
The Warden Service said Wicklund had not taken her medication and might have been disoriented.
