Cheverus’ girls’ outdoor track and field team continues to rewrite the record book and win hardware.

Saturday at Lewiston High School, the Stags repeated as Class A champions by tallying 100 points, 29 better than runner-up Gorham.

Cheverus was led by its three standouts: Victoria Bossong, Emma Gallant and Emma White.

Bossong won the 100 in 12.31 seconds, captured the 400 with a new Class A record time of 55.54, erasing the mark of 56.57 by Emily Turner of Cheverus in 2016, then smashed another Class A record in the 200, as her time of 24.8 beat the record of 25.33 set by Gallant two years ago.

None of her times were personal bests, but Bossong said she was running for the team title and hopes to improve her times significantly in two weeks at the New Balance nationals, where she has been invited to compete in the championship 400.

“My best in the 400 is 55.27 from indoor nationals,” said Bossong, who produced 30 points. “I was really hoping for a PR today. It’s important to me to PR, but I know to some people a state championship is their dream. It feels just as great as when we won it last year.”

White accounted for 26 points, winning the triple jump (37 feet-10 inches) and finishing second in the long jump (17-2.5) and 100 hurdles (15.5).

Gallant added 24 points by taking second behind Bossong in the 100 (12.46), 400 (57.90) and 200 (25.06).

Cheverus also won the 4×400 relay, as Gallant, Rosie Train, Evelyn Hanley and Bossong had a time of 4 minutes, 7.16 seconds.

The Stags’ other points came from Lauren Jordan (fourth in the shot put, 35-5, and seventh in the discus, 105-5), Hanley (sixth in the 100 hurdles, 16.04) and their fifth-place 4×800 relay team (Hannah Galeucia, Grace Turner, Tholia Hallett and Train, 10:23.86).
