BIDDEFORD — Special presidential adviser Ivanka Trump will visit Biddeford and participate in a forum and discussion about tax reform in Biddeford on Friday afternoon.

U.S. Sen. Susan Collins of Maine also will be a part of the forum, which will be held at Volk Packaging Corp. on Morin Street in Biddeford from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Friday.

The daughter of U.S. President Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump has described the proposed Republican tax reform plan as a positive step for working middle-class families.

She has said that tax reform is long overdue and has argued at town halls held last month in Pennsylvania that working families cannot continue to bear their current tax burden without relief from the government.

By lowering corporate tax rates and simplifying the tax code under the proposal, businesses would be poised to grow and American families would be able to save money when compiling their taxes,” Ivanka Trump has argued.

At a forum in October about tax reform in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Ivanka Trump said that her father’s administration has placed a focus on deregulation which works in tandem with the tax plan and is designed to boost the economy by rescinding industry regulations that people were “losing sleep over.”

Prior to her father being elected president, Ivanka Trump served as an executive vice president of The Trump Organization, and also is a fashion designer, businesswoman, author and television personality.

She moved to Washington, D.C. in January along with her husband, Jared Kushner, who is a Senior Advisor to the President and their children.
