SOUTH PORTLAND — Daniel R. Bucklin, 38, of South Portland, died peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2016, surrounded by his loving family and his loving caregivers at Maine Medical Center.

Daniel was born in Sanford on March 13, 1978. Danny, a.k.a. “Buggahboo,” was a very happy man all his life. He struggled with S.P. and chronic seizure disorder. He was such a joy to everyone who knew him.

His caregivers were the greatest. They made his life so happy the past six years.

Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Bucklin.

Daniel is survived by: his mother, Kathy Bucklin Verrill; stepdad, Fred Verrill; two brothers, Bennie Bucklin of North Carolina and Matthew Yates of Maine; one niece, Emily Bucklin; one nephew, Jake Bucklin of North Carolina; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be a private graveside service. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
