BIDDEFORD — Maurice (Moe) J. Guay, 72, of Biddeford, passed away peacefully at home with his wife and family by his side on Sunday, May 1, 2016.

He was born Sept. 5, 1943, in Biddeford, son of Pierre and Alice (Lachance) Guay. He was educated in Biddeford schools.

On May 23, 1964, he married Rachel Desloges at St. Joseph’s church in Biddeford.

Maurice worked at Pepperell Manufacturing in Biddeford as a loom fixer for many years before starting his own auto mechanics business. From 1977 to 2002, he owned and operated Maurice Guay’s Service Station, followed by Biddeford Getty.

He enjoyed snowplowing, riding his moped with his dog Pepsi, and helping others. He also enjoyed family gatherings, especially Sunday afternoon barbecues by their pool.

Moe was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul in 1995 and Bob in 2015.

He is survived by: Rachel, his wife of 51 years and their beloved dog Pepsi; daughter Denise Vigneault and her husband Kevin of Arundel; son Dana Guay of Limerick and his partner Carole Cole Wood; daughter Donna Cadorette and her husband Raymond of Biddeford; three brothers, Raymond Guay and his wife Claudette of Dunedin, Florida, Richard Guay and his wife Muriel of Biddeford, and Conrad Guay and his wife Claudette of Biddeford; one sister, Doris Cook and her husband Richard of Biddeford; eight grandchildren, Aaron, Travis and Jillian Vigneault, Nicholas, Nolan and Mikayla Guay, and Nathan and Ryan Cadorette; and many nieces and nephews

There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco at 10 a.m. Friday, May 6. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
