AUGUSTA (AP) — The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention says a worker at a Cumberland County restaurant infected with hepatitis A may have exposed customers.

The agency says the worker served food between Sept. 29 and Oct. 11, and after examining the food and beverage preparation practices at the restaurant, it’s possible others were exposed. The agency is asking health care workers to be on the lookout for possible cases of the highly contagious liver disease and report them to state public health authorities.

Neither the name of the restaurant nor the community in which it is located were disclosed.
