A Haunted House event will be presented by The Youth Theater at the Nasson Community Center in Springvale on Halloween, Oct. 31 from 5 p.m. to midnight. The all-ages event will feature a bouncy house, carnival games, prizes, raffles, face painting and a costume contest (on Halloween night). A haunted walk will be offered for teens and adults. “The Mousetrap,” an Agatha Christie murder mystery, will be presented this fall at City Theater, 205 Main St., Biddeford, Friday, Oct. 24 through Nov. 2. “The Mousetrap” has been running for 62 years on London’s West End making it the longest running play in recorded history. Since the play’s inception, each audience is asked to take a pledge not to talk about the ending of the play, allowing future audiences the opportunity to experience it fully. The Children’s Museum & Theater of Maine will hold auditions for “Beatrix Potter Christmas” on Thursday, Nov. 6 from 3-5 p.m. The theater is seeking actors ages 8-17 to perform the holiday tale on stage. Auditioners are asked to prepare a one minute monologue and arrive anytime between 3-4:45 p.m. to be seen on a first-come, first-served basis. A mystery dinner will be hosted on Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. by the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, 114 Main St. in Kennebunk. Guests will gather at tables set for six and will be served home-cooked dishes along with frightful tales and a mystery in which anyone may be the suspect. “Andrew Wyeth: The Linda L. Bean Collection” will show through Oct. 31 at the Ogunquit Museum of American Art in Ogunquit. This collection celebrates the art of Andrew Wyeth, one of Maine’s best-known painters, through a collection assembled by Linda Bean of the L.L. Bean family.

“Managing Your Creative Practice Beyond the Studio” will be held on Monday, Nov. 3 from 5:30-8:30 p.m at Engine, 265 Main St. in Biddeford. The workshop costs $30, $27 for Engine members and trains emerging creatives on how to make the most of their contacts, get organized and seize opportunities. On Tuesday, Nov. 4, “Creating Your Digital Portfolio” will be held from 3:30-5:30 p.m. The class costs $25, $22 for Engine members and guides students through the beginning stages of creating a digital portfolio. “The Three Faces of Eve,” the second film in the 2014-15 Classic Film Series presented by Ogunquit Performing Arts, will be shown at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2 at the Dunaway Center, 23 School St. in Ogunquit. This 1957 film is about a woman with multiple personalities and is based on a true story told in a best-selling book of the same name written by the two psychiatrists who handled her case. Author Anne Rice, of “Interview with the Vampire” fame, to promote her new novel, “Prince Lestate: The Vampire Chronicles,” will make an appearance on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at The Music Hall’s Historic Theater in downtown Portsmouth, N.H.
