SOUTH PORTLAND – This Veterans Day, the public is invited to join honorary Event Chair Charlie Summers at Easter Seals’ second annual Veterans Gala on Nov. 14 from 6-9 p.m. at the Sable Oaks Marriott, located at 200 Sable Oaks Drive in South Portland.

Proceeds benefit Easter Seals’ Military & Veterans Program, which offers individual and family support as well as emergency financial aid to help service members and their loved ones maintain their dignity, independence, health and well-being in times of transition.

This year, the “True Patriot Award for Community Leadership” will salute Kennebec County Sheriff Randy Liberty and his program diverting veterans from incarceration into treatment for Post Traumatic Stress Disorders. Recent era veterans will also share their inspirational stories in service and their triumphs over post-traumatic stress upon returning to civilian life.

The evening will include dinner and patriotic live music. Tickets are available for purchase online at EasterSealsMe.org. Opportunities to sponsor a veteran’s ticket to attend the gala are also available.
