Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4, and residents in Cape Elizabeth, Scarborough and South Portland all have items of local interest on the ballot.

In addition, voters statewide will elect a governor, a new Legislature and representatives to Congress, along with choosing whether to support several bond and referendum questions.

Locally the polls are open as follows. Absentee voting closes on Thursday, Oct. 30.

• Cape Elizabeth

All residents vote at Cape Elizabeth High School. Polling is open 7 a.m.-8 p.m.

• Scarborough

All residents vote at Scarborough High School. Polling is open 7 a.m.-8 p.m.

In addition, as part of its ongoing effort to improve communication with residents, the four members of the Town Council not on the ballot will host a table at the voting place. Residents will have an opportunity to talk with councilors one on one, sign up to receive notification of meetings and events and pick up informational materials.

• South Portland

There are four polling places in South Portland. Polling is open 7 a.m.-8 p.m.

• District 1 – Boys and Girls Club, 169 Broadway;

• District 2 – American Legion Post No. 35, 413 Broadway;

• Districts 3, 4 – Community Center, 21 Nelson Road;

• District 5 – Redbank Community Center, Macarthur Circle West
