On Election Day I hope the citizens of Scarborough will cast their votes for the two candidates that will bring fresh ideas and new outlooks to the Scarborough Town Council. These two candidates are Peter Hayes and Liam Somers.

During the very contentious dog ordinance vote both Peter and Liam were steady and levelheaded with the council throughout all of the council meetings. They both have shown themselves to be leaders who can think on their feet and bring a clear idea forward.

It is time for a change on Scarborough’s Town Council. New and fresh ideas need to emerge from this town. Hayes and Somers will bring these fair-minded and cogent ideas to Scarborough. They will listen to the people and truly take them into consideration when making decisions that will affect them. They will represent all Scarborough residents, not just a chosen few. I know that I am tired of being told one thing by a politician when they are running for office and asking for my vote, only to find out later that they did not do what they promised. Hayes and Somers are not politicians; they are concerned citizens of Scarborough just like you and me.

We could stay with the status quo, but the old leadership of the council has been taking us down the same rabbit hole for way too long. There are problems in this town that have not come to the light of day and the council would like to keep it that way. We need a change. We need a council that listens to the people who elected them. With the addition of Peter Hayes and Liam Somers to the Town Council we will finally get that.

Please vote for both of them.
