Auburn police are searching for the man who robbed a Big Apple convenience store in the guise of Spider-Man.

The man, wearing a Spider-Man mask to cover his face, threatened a store clerk with a knife and demanded money just before 2 a.m. Monday.

The man ran through Bonney Park toward Lewiston. The clerk chased him but was punched when he caught up to robber and the man got away, police said. The clerk was treated at the scene.

The suspect is described as a skinny white male, 5 feet 3 inches tall, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and the mask of the Marvel comics superhero. He was last seen scurrying across the footbridge into Lewiston.
