KENNEBUNK — Cara McCluskey scored a hat trick and Hallie Schwartzman added a second-half goal as sixth-seeded Kennebunk beat 11th-seeded McAuley 4-1 in a Western Class A preliminary round girls soccer game on Saturday at Veteran’s Memorial Field.

The Rams (8-4-3) will take on third-seeded Marshwood (11-2-1) in a quarterfinal at 5 p.m. Wednesday in South Berwick.

South Portland 4, Kennebunk 0

SOUTH PORTLAND — No. 6 South Portland scored two goals in both halves to top No. 11 Kennebunk 4-0 in a  Western Class A prelim on Saturday at Martin Memorial Field.

After Joe Gensio struck first for the Red Riots (9-4-2) midway through the first half, Khalid Suja scored on a direct free kick with 1:15 before the break.

Kervens Anthoine scored off a pass from Ahmed Suja to make it 3-0 early in the second half, and Ahmed Suja finished the scoring with 20 minutes remaining thanks to an assist from Khalid Suja.

Kennebunk goalie Tyler Dickinson made eight saves, while South Portland goalie Henry Curran had three stops.
