The condition of an armed man who was shot in Kennedy Park by Lewiston police officers Friday night remains unchanged, police said Sunday.

Police said Albert Crowley, 20, is being treated for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds at Central Maine Medical in Lewiston, but a nursing supervisor said Sunday he is not on the patient list there.

Lt. Michael McGonagle said Sunday that Lewiston police will file charges against Crowley in connection with the shooting but did not know when.

Police said they were checking on a report of a domestic disturbance at 8:05 p.m. Friday at 1 Knox St., next to the park, after receiving a call from a female who reported to police that Crowley had assaulted her, left the apartment and may be armed with a gun, Police Chief Michael Bussiere stated in a news release Friday night.

Police located Crowley between Knox and Spruce streets. Crowley did not heed police orders and brandished a firearm before he was shot by the officers, police said.

The officers involved were Cpl. Michael Dumond, Officer Brian Bourgoin and Officer Zachary Provost. They have been placed on paid administrative leave while the Maine Attorney General’s Office investigates the shooting, which is standard procedure.
