Wednesday’s early morning storm brought up to an inch of rain and winds gusting to 40 mph, conditions that could wreak havoc with the foliage.

The storm that brought thunder and lightning to southern Maine also is producing wind and waves that could lead to minor coastal flooding around high tide at 11:45 a.m., said Margaret Curtis, of the National Weather Service in Gray.

Rainfall totals varied with Wiscasset reporting an inch of rain but most of the areas around Portland reporting between a quarter to a half inch of rain.

Central Maine Power Co. reported 117 customers without power, most in Penobscot County. The Cumberland County Regional Communications Center reported no storm related incidents.
