SACO — Susan J. (Winston) Hazlett, 67, of Saco, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Portland on June 5, 1947, a daughter of Thomas and Anna (Honan) Winston.
She attended Saco schools and graduated from Thornton Academy, Class of 1965.
Susan was employed by Shaw’s, Piper Shores in Scarborough and the Atria in Kennebunk.
She enjoyed being an active member of the Saco community. She loved to be with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren.
Susan was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco.
She is survived by: her loving and devoted husband of 41 years, John Hazlett of Saco; her three children, Jessica (Hazlett) Cook and her husband Matthew of Dayton, Joe Hazlett and his wife Danielle of Bellingham, Washington and Patrick Hazlett and his wife Amanda of Portland; her four grandchildren, Anna, Quinn and Daniel Cook, and Lyla Hazlett; her four siblings, Mary Deveneau of Antelope, California, Jean Donald of Viera, Florida, John Winston of Park City, Utah and Tom Winston of Brewer; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014 at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St., Saco. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014 at Most Holy Trinity Church, Good Shepherd Parish, in Saco.
