SOUTH PORTLAND — The Southern Maine Woodturners are hosting an “Empty Wooden Bowls Turn-a-thon” Saturday and Sunday, June 7-8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., to raise money for Maine’s Good Shepherd Food Bank.

All weekend long, the local club will strive to exceed its previous weekend total of $1,500.

While these local turners create their wooden bowls at Rockler in South Portland, they invite people to stop by. Visitors can witness the entire bowl-making process on the lathe, from tree to bowl, and even be able to purchase bowls. The entire purchase price will go to Maine’s Good Shepherd Food Bank.

Rockler is located at 200 Gorham Road in South Portland.
