PORTLAND — The Portland Sea Dogs (27-15) and Binghamton Mets ( 24- 17) split an Eastern League baseball doubleheader Monday night at Hadlock Field.

In the opener, the Mets grabbed a 5-0 win over the Portland Sea Dogs. The game featured a one hour and 39 minute rain delay with two outs in the seventh inning.

Mets right- hander Hansel Robles (2-2) earned the win, tossing six shutout innings on six hits. Robles did not issue a walk, fanned two and threw 61 of his 90 pitches for strikes.

Henry Owens ( 4- 3) fanned eight batters over four innings, but took the loss for Portland. Owens gave up two hits, walked four and issued two wild pitches.

Binghamton took a 1- 0 lead in the fourth inning. Matt Clark led off with a walk, advanced to second base on a wild pitch and scored on a two-out single by Darrell Ceciliani. Clark came back to haunt the Sea Dogs in the fifth inning. Michael Olmsted relieved Owens and a yielded a three-run blast by Clark.

The Sea Dogs rolled in the nightcap for an 8-2 win.

Portland wasted no time and jumped all over the Mets starter Angel Cuan for two runs in the first inning.

In the third, back-to-back doubles by Mookie Betts and Marrero made is 3-0.

The Sea Dogs and Mets continue their six- game series tonight with a lone game at Hadlock Field beginning at 6 p.m.
