BUXTON (AP) — A suspect in a Buxton home invasion has turned himself in after hiding in the woods for several days and getting assurances he would be fed.
Authorities say 30-year-old Michael Crockett Jr. surrendered Sunday after negotiating with police through his attorney.
Crockett said through a lawyer that he would give himself up if he received a Mountain Dew, chocolate milk, and a pizza.
He came out of the woods in Cornish with his hands up and received the food and refreshments as promised.
Crockett had apparently been in the woods since a warrant was issued for his arrest last week.
He is one of three people facing charges in the April 11 home invasion.
His lawyer says he is innocent but hid because he has a distrust of police.
