BOARD DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE: This Saturday, May 17, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., is the Southern Midcoast Maine Chamber’s Healthy Maine Living Expo. The family friendly event features 50 exhibitors and is sponsored by Mid Coast Hospital. It takes place at Coastal Ortho Performance Training Center (also a sponsor) located conveniently at 14 Thomas Point Road, in the Cook’s Corner area of Brunswick.

The public is invited to explore the newest state-of-the-art local training facility. This is your opportunity to talk face to face with personal trainers and coaches. Or, get a seated massage, blood pressure test, or tips on acupuncture.

Coastal Ortho and Performance Training Center is offering free demonstrations, free functional movement screenings ($40 value) and two physical therapists will provide 15-minute injury assessments from 1 to 3 p.m. People will learn how a quick consult with a clinician can help them get moving better, and will help them recognize an issue that they might not have known they had.

Meet with one of the region’s newest specialties (plastic surgery), local health care providers, wellness experts, home health care services and fitness experts. Meet other businesses that will show you how to correctly fit footwear, keep allergens out of your carpets, grow your own vegetables, improve your financial health and where you can learn to play tennis. There is an exhibitor for everyone and for all ages.

Admission for all is free. There’s plenty of parking. A special thank you to our sponsors: Coastal Ortho Performance Training Center and Mid Coast Hospital.
