9. First day of spring POST: “Happy First-Full-Day-of- Spring! Fat Boy Drive-in on Bath Road opens for the season today. What’s your favorite drive-in indulgence?” Reached 1,511/ March 21

How much do readers of The Times Record like spring?

Oh, they like it very much. One way to tell: A poll about the first day of spring posted at The Times Record’s page on Facebook was the ninth most viewed post on the newspaper’s page social media page in 2013.

On the occasion of the Fat Boy Drive-in on Bath Road opening for the season, and to prime readers for summer, we asked: “What’s your favorite drive- in indulgence?”

We got 33 responses and the post was viewed 1,511 times.

We’d also like to think it helped chase away the latewinter chill for our more intrepid social media consumers.

Jeanne Burton, owner of Fat Boy, got wind of the post and donated a $5 gift certificate to give away to Facebook fans who commented in the thread.

Traci Tanguay Footer of Bath won the drawing, but dozens of readers weighed in with their favorite drivein food, which includes frappes, crab rolls, hot dogs and burgers.

(By the way, Traci liked the onion rings and a cheeseburger with ketchup, mustard and extra pickles for her first Fat Boy meal of the season.)

For the record, spring 2014 is in 80 days, but who’s counting?
