The Wells High School girls’ basketball team is holding its second annual Shootin’ for a Cure program.

Girls on all seven teams in the Wells schools, from fifth grade to high school varsity, are raising money to help bring breast MRI technology to the Breast Care Center at York Hospital in Wells.

Players who gather pledges will each shoot 50 free-throws at a designated time on Jan. 15 at the high school. In addition, each team in the program will have a home game that weekend, highlighted by a JV and varsity doubleheader against Traip Academy at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

The event raised more than $13,000 last year, and the team’s goal is to top $15,000. More information is available at www.shootinforacure.org.
